2025 WINTER TAX INFORMATION

May send payment to:
Bloomer Township Treasurer
PO Box 261
Carson City, MI  48811

Just a reminder that postmarks are not accepted – tax payments are due in the treasurer’s office by 6:00pm March 02, 2026 – allow at least 7 days for mailed payments to arrive.

Please be sure that the check is signed, and the written words are the same as the numbers in the amount box.  Place a phone number on your check just in case there is an issue so I can call rather than return the payment with a letter explaining what the issue is.

The STC has also provided a Poverty Exemption Taxpayer Fact Sheet that explains a taxpayer’s filing requirements. To apply, a taxpayer must file the following with the local unit of government to apply for the poverty exemption for 2021:

  1. Form 5737, Application for MCL 211.7u Poverty Exemption
  2. Form 5738 – Request for Approval of Percentage Reduction in Taxable Value for Poverty Exemptions Under MCL 211.7u
  3. Form 5739, Affirmation of Ownership and Occupancy to Remain Exempt by Reason of Poverty. All required additional documentation (such as federal/state income tax returns). Taxpayers not required to file federal/state income tax returns would instead submit
